What’s Blooming in June
Ammi (Dill), Bupleurum, Campanula, Delphinium, Echinacea, Eucalyptus, Feverfew, Hydrangea, Rudbekia, Scabiosa, Snapdragons, Statice
Arrangement tips
Building a bouquet is similar to making a salad in that you need a lot of greens to form a base. If you’re short on greens or filler, try using a hydrangea as your base, criss crossing other flower types through the face of the hydrangea bloom. I’ve included a few images below to give you some ideas for how you can add structure and volume to an otherwise simple arrangement.
start with a hydrangea bloom to fill the vessel opening
cross some of your taller filler in a X shape through the middle of the hydrangea bloom
turned to the side, stems of the focal flowers threaded through the hydrangea
color contrast, height, volume, stability!
Tips for Care
Keep flowers cool and out of direct sunlight.
Avoid placing arrangements near air vents which can dry petals.
Trim stems before arranging and every few days after.
Remove excess leaves from the stem. No stem leaves should touch the vase water.
Refresh water regularly for the longest vase life.

Touch Magic.
pass it On.
Inspired by the thrill of getting a card in the mail from your gran, or a note in your lunchbox from a parent, I’m including a poem, a postcard, and a monthly note from me for an added dose of whimsy. I hope you mail the postcard to a loved one, and hang the poem on your refrigerator or drop it in a park. Children’s book author Jane Yolen loved to say, “Touch Magic, Pass it On.”
